Young Lions – One Year Later

IMG_1813

One year ago today, April 19, 2012,  Young Lions was released. We had a blast at the record release party together. It was touching to see so many friends and family together.

We soon began to hear feedback on the music, including a great review from the Americana Music News. We received emails and notes from people who wrote how the songs touched them, many wrote that they cry when they listen.

We started to receive airplay, first on the great Cerphe’s Progressive Show, then to the mothership EcoPlanetRadio. Then Jen of KOSW picked it up and remains on her wonderful show Jen Drive. Radio UK placed it on their playlist as have other terrestrial and internet stations here and abroad. Hardly A Day, You Can Count On Me, Harder Than The Fall and Here (A Song For Tammy) are the songs that seem to be the programmers’ favorites.

We sold Young Lions through this internet site and at one brick and mortar location, Leesburg’s Eyetopia.

We sold enough in the first week to pay all the costs associated with its production. Since then we have raised thousands collectively for these associations:

• ALS Association

• JDRF

• American Heart Association

• National MS Society

• American Cancer Association

I say “we” because from the start this project was about us, us fighting for cures to alleviate these insidious diseases, us coming together through songs about us, us sharing each other’s memories as life rolls through us and around us.

I never in my wildest dreams thought we could accomplish what we have in one year.

Thank you.

We are Young Lions.

Young Lions is now available on iTunes.
